Stewardship becoming a priority for Pastoral Councils

Beginning with 5 parishes in 2006 there are now over 30 parishes across the Archdiocese of Brisbane embracing the principles of Stewardship and implementing the recommended strategies based on past successful achievements. In most parishes the Pastoral Councils have established small Stewardship Subcommittees to research and recommend relevant approaches for advancing the stewardship way of life.

Stewardship is a spirituality for life that challenges the Christian disciple to foster a sense of gratitude, responsibility and generosity through the better use of time, talent and treasure. The practice of Stewardship is an intentional living of the biblical call to be stewards. The Christian steward is one who receives God’s gifts gratefully, cherishes and tends them in a responsible and accountable manner, shares them generously in justice with others, and returns them with increase to God.
