Archbishop names mediator for St Mary's impasse
The Catholic Archbishop of Brisbane, Most Rev John Bathersby DD, has offered to mediate the St Mary’s Church impasse and has suggested The Hon. Ian Callinan AC, former Justice of the High Court of Australia, as mediator. The Hon. Ian Callinan has agreed to accept an appointment as mediator if both parties are agreeable. The Archbishop hopes that with an independent mediator in place to talk to both the Archdiocese and Fr Kennedy, a dignified and peaceful outcome can be achieved.
