Archbishop Bathersby to preside at 10.00am Mass on National Day of Mourning

17/10/2002

Archbishop John Bathersby will preside at the 10am Sunday mass at St Stephen’s Cathedral, Brisbane on October 20th.

Earlier in the week Archbishop Bathersby called on Catholic people of the Archdiocese to pray at weekend masses for all those affected by the Bali tragedy.

In accord with Prime Minister Howard’s nomination of Sunday the 20th as a National Day of mourning, this mass, along with the 6pm Saturday Vigil, and the 8am, 12noon and 7.30pm on Sunday, will have a specific focus on prayers for the victims and the families of the victims.

All regular masses at suburban churches across the weekend will also feature this special emphasis on prayers for healing the nation’s hurt.
