Golden Wedding Ceremonies at St Stephen's – Over 70 couples say “I do”again
17/10/2002
Nearly seventy couples will renew their wedding vows at Brisbane’s St Stephen’s Cathedral in a special ceremony at 10.00 am on Saturday 19th October.
All have been married fifty years or more to claim their Golden Wedding Anniversary status. Two proud couples will be celebrating their Diamond (60th) anniversary.
Archbishop John Bathersby will preside at the ceremony.
The “brides and grooms” will share a wedding brunch afterwards on the lawns of St Stephen’s Cathedral at 11.00am.
A request to Parish Priests to highlight the ceremony in local newsletters was enthusiastically taken up and a crowd of over 250 people, featuring the devoted couples, family and well-wishers are expected to attend.
