Capture a PrayerFIRE MOMENT
Listed below are some suggestions for ways in which we can pray in the normal course of our everyday lives for God’s love and action to touch the lives of others. - in the car or on public transport as you travel to work / school pray for all the members of your parish community and their needs, especially the sick, the lonely and those in pain
- as you enter or leave the front door of your home pray a blessing on your family and for all who will need the grace of God to cope with the struggles and challenges of family life this day
- at the dinner table as you break bread, give thanks and share stories of the people you have met during the course of the day and offer a prayer for them
- at bedtime reflect on your day and thank God for the times you have seen the face of Christ in another person
- when you stop for a coffee break, listen to the heart of your workmates and pray a silent prayer for their needs and journey of faith.
- as you walk or exercise, pray and ask God to give wisdom and courage to all who have the opportunity to speak a word of faith to a friend, neighbour or stranger this day
- as you open the refrigerator or your lunch box remember to pray for those who are hungry either for food or for the presence of God in their lives
- at the Eucharist each week pray for all who serve in active ministry within the Archdiocese especially those who reach out to the poor, the sick and those estranged from society and the Church
- as you read the newspaper, listen to the radio news or watch the news on TV say a prayer for a person, situation or issue that needs the love of God
