PrayerFIRE seeks to build upon existing Archdiocesan prayer groups by providing a network of support and encouraging the growth and development of new prayer connections at the local level.

In the busyness of life, it is vital that we find new ways to make prayer connections with others and release the power of God within our lives. You are encouraged to establish your own PrayerFIRE group that meets the needs of your own particular context by:

• Forming a prayer group in your workplace eg once a week over lunch
• Developing a telephone chain circle among mothers at home to pray for both parish and family needs
• Finding a prayer partner and meeting once a week to spend time together in prayer
• Booking a monthly coffee and prayer night for a specific group e.g. singles, unemployed, young people, married couples
• Forming an ecumenical Taize prayer group in your local area that moves between churches each fortnight
• Having a parish prayer team that visits the sick and those suffering from emotional pain
• Holding a regular prayer time in your home with some neighbours to pray with one another
• Visiting the parish shut-ins and giving them a list of prayer needs and informing them of what’s happening in the parish
• Developing a prayer support team for people in specific ministries / agencies in the Archdiocese
• Creating an email / website prayer chain that allows members to nominate prayer needs
